Our outreach team focuses on sharing God's love by supporting those in our community through acts of kindness. Right now we're focusing on four events a year and hope to begin a clothing closet in our church building in 2024!
First Baptist Church of Duxbury has partnered with St. Pauly Textile Inc. to provide a wood-frame clothing drop-off shed for community use.
This shed is designed to give community members a uniquely clean, convenient, and well-cared-for option to donate their used clothing.
St. Pauly Textile Inc. partners with businesses and various organizations to distribute donated items both here in the U.S. and worldwide, where they’re ultimately re-worn by people who need them. First Baptist Church of Duxbury receives funding for donated clothing, and additionally has the option to use donations to serve community needs. Right now, we're only accepting:
With over 1,300 clothing drop-off sheds in place, St. Pauly Textile Inc. collects over 150,000 pounds of clothing every day and estimates that this clothing ends up in 44 different countries (including the U.S.) yearly. In 2022, the company was able to help keep over 68 million articles of clothing out of landfills, which clothed an estimated 8.3 million people worldwide. The company was founded in 1996 and is an A+ rated member of the Better Business Bureau.
The Helping Hands Outreach will be preparing their last meal of the season on Sunday, March 10th. We will be preparing a hearty Shepherd's Pie and will be making enough for the volunteers to also enjoy a small dinner after to sample their handiwork. Opportunities to participate and support this meal include donating food items, donating Walmart gift cards, and volunteering to make the meal.
Sign-up sheets will be in the Narthex the following two Sundays. If you have any questions or are unable to sign-up at church, reach out here.

Each girl in attendance had a hand in preparing the meal with teams working to brown the ground beef and assemble lasagnas, chop vegetables and toss a garden salad, as well as prepare and cook several batches of brownies. The girls also put together 25 blessing bags that included a pair of gloves, hand warmers, chapstick, trail mix, and a candy cane with a small note and Bible verse. At the end of the day, we delivered the meal along with garlic bread and breakfast items to be served to the individuals by the staff at the shelter. Both moms and girls had a great time fellowshipping together and the girls worked joyfully unto the Lord with their hands and hearts!
Thank you to all those who donated food and/or were able to help prepare this meal.
